so. freaking. tired.

The baby. Not me. Well, me too. I'm tired, but I'm not that tired. I mean, that wasn't the point of this post. Nevermind. Moving on.

Audrey has been a tummy-sleeper (>gasp<) since pretty early on. She was never really comfortable sleeping on her back/side and by 6 weeks old we just got to the point where we needed sleep. So we started letting her sleep on her tummy during naps & it slowly evolved from there. When she figured out how to roll over (front to back), I was worried that we were in for sleepless nights because we would have to go flip her back over to her tummy to go to sleep. It was rough but wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. When she figured out how to roll back over (back to front), I was relieved. Now she'll roll back & forth in her crib but she will inevitably end up asleep on her tummy. Every now and then she'll end up on her back and for whatever reason (too tired, crammed in the corner, etc.) she can't make it back over to her tummy and full on screaming begins, resulting in someone going to "rescue" her.

Anyways. The whole point of this story is to reiterate the point that S.B.G sleeps on her tummy. Always.

Cut to last night. We put her to sleep and listened to the usual cooing & noises as she went to sleep. Frequent checking of the video monitor to make sure she was okay resulted in cute night-vision-camera images of her rolling around the crib, playing with the bumper and general baby happiness. After a short while, it was noticeably quiet so we knew she had finally rolled over to her tummy and gone to sleep. Or so we thought. I flipped on the video monitor and saw her in the funniest sleep position of her short 6 month life. I couldn't get a good picture of the video monitor, so I grabbed my camera & went into her bedroom.

I apologize for the crappy picture - it was dark (except for the hall light) and I couldn't hold the camera still because I was laughing so hard. Poor baby girl was so tired she just couldn't roll all the way back over. Anyways, I realize that I am probably the only person in the world that thinks this is the funniest thing ever. But then again, this is my blog. So there.

Audrey is 6 months, 1 week & 3 days old

You're not the only one, I think it's pretty darn funny. It's so cute when they sleep like big people!

It's funny alright! It's been entertaining reading about your little S.B.G. I see why you get lots of blog loving.

Cooper gets like that too, it is so funny. Sometimes he'll just flop over and he's in a sitting postion but w/ his head between his knees and he's asleep. It looks so uncomfortable!

Anyway, as always A looks cute. And overwhelmingly pink!
