nomnomnom

Yesterday S.B.G. took yet another step towards big girl-ness and enjoyed (we'll use that term loosely) her first bites of rice cereal. Out of the small bit that we gave her, most of it did end up in her mouth as opposed to on her face, in her hair, on the floor, eaten by the dog, etc. so we can call the first solid food experience a success.

We will probably continue with the rice-cereal-once-a-day trend for the next week or so; it will be pretty tough to juggle the holidays & attempt to make/introduce new foods to her every couple days (abiding by the 4 Day Wait Rule). We're going to be brave ambitious and attempt to make all her baby food food from scratch. (And by "we" I really mean Miller.)

"They" always say that once you give your baby rice cereal that he/she will immediately start sleeping better. True to form, Audrey decided to take a nap shortly after finishing her mid-afternoon snack. Not one to follow a trend, she only slept for 45 minutes. Nice. That's my girl.

Audrey is 5 months, 2 weeks & 3 days old

awww growing so fast! but a child that's one not to follow a trend is one who will allow mama to sleep better the teenage years.... *hopefully* lol.

good luck making all her food! i fully intend to make all baby food but haven't experimented with that one yet... obviously. lol.

she's very interested in the food, at least. Grabbing at the spoon in that first picture. Too cute. And tell Miller that making food isn't too hard. It's actually fun and when you bake fruits, it makes the house smell really nice.

Andrew has made all of Lilly's food and it's worked out great really, with us freezing baby portions for later use. Congrats on the next step!
