I'm the Fourth Stooge

Another day, another meme. But (shocker!) this one came from another source. Thanks to Amy I now have something to kill 10 minutes with.

A) Four places that I go to over and over: Houston, the office, the lake, the eye doctor (as of late)
B) Four people who e-mail me (regularly): Miller, Jen, Mom, anyone from work
C) Four of my favorite places to eat: at home (Miller is a great cook), Freebirds, Chick-fil-A, Ragin Cajun
D) Four places I would rather be right now: at the spa, at the lake, sleeping, in Houston meeting my "nephew"
E) Four people I think will respond: Joyce, Commish, Ashley, Larisa
F) Four TV shows I watch (regularly): Project Runway, Young & the Restless, CSI, Mad Men

Like a 6-pack of beer....

Leave it to Joyce to have a great meme to participate in.

Here are the rules:

  • Link back to the person who tagged you: Joyce
  • Mention the rules on your blog
  • Tell 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
  • Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking to them
  • Leave a comment for each tagged blogger to let them know that they have been tagged

6 Quirks About Me:

  • I read magazines "backwards." I start from the back cover and work my way forward. It makes it difficult to read Vogue and other magazines where the stories jump from page-to-page, but I still do it this way.
  • I love to wrap presents but I can't tie a "pretty" bow. I worked at Bed Bath & Beyond the summer after high school as the Bridal Registry consultant and I loved doing the complimentary gift wrap since they didn't use bows!
  • Anytime I have to write a word with an e-i or i-e spelling, I have to repeat the "i before e, except after c" rule to myself. I misspelled a word on a paper in college once and was humiliated in front of my class for it.
  • I rotate the towels in the linen closet and the plates in the cupboard after washing. The cleanest ones always go on the bottom to ensure even wear on all items.
  • I "sing" made-up songs to my dog instead of talking to him. (But, honestly, why would I be talking to him?) Common tunes include: "Riley, Mommy is going to the kitchen to get a snack" and "Does Riley want a treat?" Can you tell I work from home?
  • I don't have a problem when people address me as "Tabi," but I absolutely hate it when my name gets shortened to "Tabby." Even though they are pronounced the same, there is something about the 'y' that drives me bananas.

I'm going to pass on tagging anyone this go round. Considering the fact that it literally took me 2 weeks to get this done, I'm going to give everyone a mulligan on participating.

We Smelled ProPANE

Now that Hurricane Ike has passed us by and all my friends/family from the Gulf Coast area have been accounted for (and everyone is safe), we can now take a moment to laugh and some of the hilarity that ensues when these type of events happen. Oh, the media....

Editor's Note: This is not meant to dimish the severity of the situation.....it's just time for a good laugh.

Leave it to Geraldo Rivera to leave us with this wonderful gem. Unfortunately, he put the emPHAsis on the wrong sylLAble.

Only in Texas. Annie...go git yer gun!

Lots to blog about....but I'm too tired to care

I have a lot to update here, but I am so ridiculously exhausted that I'm going to have to postpone the blogging until later. Maybe tomorrow? For those of you that are just desperate to know, here's what I've got:

  • We got a new washer/dryer this week (rock on, goal 18) and painted the laundry room
  • I got tagged by Joyce and have to come up with 6 quirky things about myself
  • I started cleaning out my closet (thank you, goal 35)
  • I put in an order for new undergarments at GapBody (a la goal 47)

I guess that's it. Legitimate blog posts will be forthcoming. I promise.

I LOVE that movie!!

I don't care to comment on politics on my blog. Partly because it's none of your business and mostly because I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to politics. Anyhow....regardless of what side of the line/fence/poll you are sitting on, you have to admit that this little gem (shamelessly stolen from Perez Hilton is hilarious.
