alright, alright!

I have received several emails from people in the last couple days demanding asking really nicely for Audrey updates. So, here you go. :)

We went to Houston last week to spend quality time with 阿婆 & Grandpa. The camera stayed in my bag and we just had a great time hanging out. We also got to help celebrate Abby's birthday and had a great time playing with all the babies.

Since we got home on Monday we've just been busy doing nothing. Audrey has developed a squinchy-faced-smile that is seriously the cutest thing ever.

She also continues to get into EVERYTHING these days. She is now a master at pulling herself into a standing position and is hardly ever sitting down anymore. She has stood unassisted only a couple times, but never long enough for me to capture with photographic evidence.

And because Riley hasn't gotten much love on the blog lately, I took this picture tonight during bath time. Cutest. Thing. Ever.

In other news...I ordered my new laptop today!! It should be here sometime next week so I promise that the blogging & (non iPhone) pictures will get back to the pace that some of you (ahem*Lin*ahem) are used to!!

10 months (and one day) old!!

I completely dropped the ball on getting this done yesterday. So I was sure to make up for it today. Unfortunately, it's a lot harder to take a picture of a baby when she is in constant motion. No sooner would I have her sitting up in an optimal lighting situation getting ready to focus & snap the picture and she would be looking for the next best thing. I literally got 3 pictures of her looking at the camera. THREE. Sheesh. In the interests of full disclosure, I'm going to share them all with you, because let's face it, she's a cute one.

I eventually got tired of trying to catch a picture of her front side and put the sticker on the part of her body that I see all the most these days.

checking a calendar = FAIL

I guess this is what happens when you don't have anything to do but play with a baby all day. Not once did I check a calendar or look at the date today. I knew it was Monday but it never occurred to me that today was the 19th. So, needless to say I failed to take Audrey's 10 month picture today. I guess I could go slap the sticker on her butt and take the picture while she's asleep, but considering she actually is asleep we'll just postpone until tomorrow.

And since I haven't really posted a legitimate post in a week, I guess it is time for another picture-blast.

I went into Audrey's room Friday afternoon to find this:

That's right, folks. Audrey is pulling up on ev.ry.thing. these days. Her toys, the couch, the coffee table, the wall, my leg, you name it and she is trying to scale it like Mount Everest. It sounds like a pretty cool party trick, but she is still figuring out how to get back down on her butt so there are times when she is standing & doesn't want to be anymore that usually leads to some pretty fierce crying.

Saturday afternoon Audrey indulged in cheese toast for dinner. Clearly, she is a big fan.

She's eating table foods exclusively these days - no more bowls & spoons for this girl!! Carrots & sweet potatoes are still topping her list of favorites but she ate zucchini & squash the other day for the first time and gobbled them down pretty quickly. Usually she's a bit more hesitant with the new stuff, so clearly they were a huge hit.

Daddy & Brother (Riley) went camping this weekend and by Sunday, Audrey was getting sick of me. She asked me to send them this picture as they were breaking down camp getting ready to head home.

Can't you hear it? "Daddy? Pleeeeeease come home. Mommy is boring!"

And one final thing to make my mom happy...a quick little video of Audrey enjoying her lunch this weekend. Peas & Rice. Yum.

life is good!

Life is good, indeed!

Lyndsay posted the sneak peek from our photo shoot Monday afternoon & I forgot to share it here. Whoopsie. Be sure to check it out - the cute factor is overwhelming.

In non-Audrey news...I am 99.9% ready to submit my resume & cover letter! There is a specific job that would be prettyfuckingfantastic if I got and I am excited to be applying. I don't know how many other jobs I'm going to apply for (if any) in the near future, thanks to my severance, but this one is just too good to pass up. Please keep your fingers & toes crossed for me!!

it's hard to blog when you don't have a computer

Not only did I lose a job last week, but I also lost my computer. That's what happens when you have to turn in your work-issued laptop. So, now I'm on the market for a shiny new (or refurbished) one. And while I'm at it, I'm thinking of making the switch to Mac. Eeep!! Anyone know where I can get a great deal??

Anyways. Since I've been sans computer I haven't been able to upload/edit/post pictures (not that I've been using my camera anyways, but whatever). Luckily, I can upload pictures directly from my trusty iPhone so that the grandparents don't have to go through too much Audrey-withdrawal.

Saturday afternoon we headed over to a friend's place for a birthday party/crawfish boil. The weather was great & the food was delicious. And Audrey was on her best behavior in a cute green dress (courtesy of 阿婆).

Sunday we had a couple errands to run and it gave us the perfect opportunity to test out Audrey's new ride. I think she approves.

This morning we woke up a little earlier than usual to meet up with Lyndsay and have Audrey's 9 month pictures taken. (Sneak peek coming later today!) I decided to hand feed her breakfast in the car so we could maximize her awake time with Lyndsay - it was also the first time Audrey got (whole wheat) waffles. She loved them & I love the little-birdy action of this picture.

Sorry for the randomness of this post...I'm using one of Miller's old laptops and the keyboard S.U.C.K.S. Maybe he shouldn't have spilled coffee beer on it.

daily dose of cuteness

As happy as I am about it, blogging about getting laid off sucks. So let's lighten it up a bit, mmmkay?

Tuesday was a GORGEOUS day out and was the perfect day for a picnic in our neighborhood park. Several gals & their always-cute babies came out and we had a grand old time watching all our children literally crawl all over each other. I didn't get any good pictures of all the babies together, but (of course) I got this ridiculously cute one of S.B.G.

Speaking of crawling - things are still slow going in that department. Literally. It's honestly fine by me because it means that I'm not chasing her around the house as she zooms about on all fours. I realize that pictures like this one are going to start to be few & far between - I kept having to back up as she crawled towards me. I guess it's a good thing she's slow, huh? :)

And I'm l.o.v.i.n.g. the view as she crawls away. Good gawd I love that fluffy butt.

But, crawling isn't all that is happening in the Miller household. Nosiree. We busted out the walker-toy that she got for Christmas (thanks, Grandpa & Grandma!) and she has taken to it like a fish to water. She still needs some help getting into a standing position and we have to hang on to keep it from zooming away faster than her little legs can go, but she is having a ball walking around the house.

You can't really tell it from the look on her face, but I promise she is having fun. She's concentrating, people.

Le Sigh.

I got laid off from work this morning.

Without getting into too much detail, let's just say that my (work from home) position was downsized in lieu of an in-office position. And moving back to Houston isn't an option. As much as it is a craptacular situation it was somewhat expected. I was upset this morning for about an hour but after sitting back and just taking it all in, it is a good thing. Really. A good thing.

I had been unhappy for a while. But working from home and having the luxury/freedom to keep S.B.G home with me all day was really too good to walk away from. Not to mention that in this economy, it is just hard to imagine turning down a paycheck. But I considered it. And I updated my resume. Recently.

Fortunately, I will be getting a modest severance that will allow me to take a couple weeks and live a life of leisure. I am going to spend 100% of my time hanging out with S.B.G. without looking over my shoulder at the blackberry every 5 minutes. [[ HOT DAMN - I get to turn in my Blackberry!! ]] I'm going to go to play dates and have lunch with my girlfriends. I'm going to get my hair did. Not to mention that our 9 month 10 month shoot with Lyndsay is coming up (please cooperate, weather!). Really. It's going to be all good.

How can it not be when I get to hang out with her all day?

I almost peed my pants

This is probably only really funny if you've been watching this season's Dancing with the Stars, but regardless Jimmy Fallon is hilarious.

Bunny Ears. Yeah. Sure.

The Miller clan didn't really get into the Easter spirit this year. As much fun as it would have been to make S.B.G. her very first Easter basket filled with goodies and take her on her first Easter egg hunt, we really just couldn't muster up the motivation to do it. I know. We are horrible, horrible parents. Luckily for us, she won't remember it (or the lack thereof) anyways. So there.

But speaking of Easter and the proverbial bunnies.....

I have no idea what this picture has to do with bunnies except her hair resembles bunny ears. Sure. Let's just go with that, okay?

And another one for posterity.

S.B.G. has also taken to fake coughing a lot lately. It really is quite cute once you realize she really isn't choking and/or gagging. I am sure it doesn't help that we totally egg her on, but I find it quite hilarious.

child labor = cuteness

阿婆 & Grandpa safely arrived Thursday evening and it has been a jam packed weekend already. Miller & I always tend to take advantage of the extra hands/eyes watching the baby so we can get projects done around the house.

We've been finishing up painting projects around the house and Audrey decided to get in on the action. And before you start calling CPS because she has paint on her face....it was water soluble & was washed off immediately.

Hey photogs/enthusiasts: I had my ISO set way too high when I took these and didn't realize it until I was editing. Is there anything I can do to reduce the noise or am I S.O.L.?

Creepy Crawler

Okay, so she's not really "creepy" but my little S.B.G. is officially a crawler!! After weeks of failed & half attempts at crawling she has finally strung together the necessary knee & arm motions to propel her forward!!

Love.It.

Now I have to baby-proof.

Crap.
