I got laid off from work this morning.
Without getting into too much detail, let's just say that my (work from home) position was downsized in lieu of an in-office position. And moving back to Houston isn't an option. As much as it is a craptacular situation it was somewhat expected. I was upset this morning for about an hour but after sitting back and just taking it all in, it is a good thing. Really. A good thing.
I had been unhappy for a while. But working from home and having the luxury/freedom to keep S.B.G home with me all day was really too good to walk away from. Not to mention that in this economy, it is just hard to imagine turning down a paycheck. But I considered it. And I updated my resume. Recently.
Fortunately, I will be getting a modest severance that will allow me to take a couple weeks and live a life of leisure. I am going to spend 100% of my time hanging out with S.B.G. without looking over my shoulder at the blackberry every 5 minutes. [[ HOT DAMN - I get to turn in my Blackberry!! ]] I'm going to go to play dates and have lunch with my girlfriends. I'm going to get my hair did. Not to mention that our 9 month 10 month shoot with Lyndsay is coming up (please cooperate, weather!). Really. It's going to be all good.
How can it not be when I get to hang out with her all day?

sorry about getting laid off but welcome to the world of being a full time mom!! enjoy this time with audrey - only good things can come from this. :)

Ok, so my next Friday off my sister will be in town, but the next one after that we totally need to hang out before you can't hang out.
