52. Watch the entire list: AFI's 100 Years...100 Movies

I don't know how I did it, but I found 100 consecutive minutes to sit down and watch another flick. The General is a silent film from the 1920's about a man & a train.

My last jaunt into the world of silent films proved to be pretty successful, so I had moderately high expectations for this movie. The story was entertaining and worked well for a silent movie format. The music was not what one would expect for a silent film. Instead of using vaudeville-esque piano tunes, the entire movie was set to different classical songs played by a full orchestra. Seeing as how I have a music background (playing in both the band & orchestra in high school...yes, I was a nerd), it was a bit distracting for me to focus on the movie/plot and not get lost in the tunes. But that's just me.

I've never heard of this movie. I'd like to say I would see it, but that would be a big fat lie. Glad you're doing this and not me. :)

FYI: You're running out of time to have 100 consecutive minutes. Just a warning. :) We watched Slumdog Millionaire when the boys were about 2 months and I don't think we've had a moment to watch a full-length movie in a long time. Sigh.
