I started running today.
I'm embarking on a 9-week journey to give myself the ability to complete a 5K (using the Couch to 5K program). I've always wanted to sign up for a charity 5K race, and although it's perfectly acceptable to walk during these events, I always wonder if I've got it in me to actually run one all the way through. I'm sure I could muscle through it, but I would rather not hate the experience and swear them off forever. So I started training.
And let's not discount the health benefits. I'm not saying that I am overweight, but let's be honest - my stomach isn't as flat as it used to be and my propensity to be lazy isn't helping. Chasing a toddler is tiring & I know that regular exercise will help improve my energy level. Audrey & I have been walking to the neighborhood park a lot more, so I'm going to start adding in a run on our way home.
We'll see how it goes...I'm really hoping to stick it out for the full 9 weeks. Help keep me honest, okay??

You can do it! Do you have a specific 5K in mind?
I am so happy to know you have good use of the running stroller...5K should be a piece of cake :)
