A former co-worker & friend of mine had this cool "interview" on his blog. I liked that it wasn't the traditional meme where everyone has to answer the same boring questions over & over. I mean, honestly...how many times can I tell you how many movies I've seen or books I've read. PLUS, it's a voluntary participation meme (translation: no "tagging"). If you want to participate, here are the rules:
- Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
- I will respond by emailing you five questions. (I get to pick the questions). Make sure I've got your email address (or some other way to send you your questions.
- You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
- You will include this explanation and an offer to interview others in the same post.
- When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
And now....on with the show:
1. If you could change careers and do anything you wanted, what would you do and why?
In a perfect world? Absolutely nothing. Yeah, I'm really lazy like that. But in keeping in theme with the true intent of the question, I would love to be a movie critic. I'm always down for a flick but hate paying $48 to go to the movies these days. I would much rather earn $48 to go to the movies. Besides...in how many other professions are out there where you can basically talk shit about anyone & everything and get praised for it?? Sounds like a win-win in my book.
2. What is the most exciting thing about the pending birth of your first child?
This is going to sound totally cheesy and make me sound like a loon, but here goes... I'm really looking forward to having that feeling all parents talk about when they say you love your child more than anything else in the entire world. I mean, I'm obsessed with Riley and feel like I couldn't love anything/anyone more than I love him (except Miller, obviously) and I can't possibly imagine having any more love to give. It has to be possible, but I can't imagine (yet) what that will feel like.
3. If you were to select the animal that best describes your character, what would it be and why?
These days I can easily relate to the panda bear - a large, rotund animal with a plump belly & bottom. Pandas are typically solitary animals, most active during the day, but tend to socialize during feeding season. Oh, and let's not forget endangered. There's only one of me out there in this world. :)
4. One week; all expenses paid; where would you travel to?
Only a week???? Let's go with Fiji. Nothing appeals to me more these days than the thought of lounging on the beach, soaking up some rays, with a fruity pineapple-type-cocktail in my hands. Ahh...heaven.
5. Visitors to Austin flock to 6th Street and other well known locations. Name the one place you would take a visitor they hadn’t heard about.
This is a hard one! Since I'm pregnant (translation: no alcohol) and the weather is crappy I'd probably stick with food-related activities. Personally, I've always wanted to stop by all the airstream trailer restaurants that keep popping up around town (hello, Flip Happy Crepes and Hey Cupcake!). Ultimately, there is so much good food in Austin that it's hard not to find a fantastic place to eat.
Okay...I'm all done! It's now your turn if you want it to be! Post a comment letting me know you're interested in participating, and I'll send you 5 custom questions! (And I have no idea why I decided to end each of those sentences with an exclamation point. !!)

I love your answer to #2, and I can tell you from experience, it WILL happen and it is truly the greatest love in the world. I felt the same way about my cat as you feel about Riley, and now, I actually feel kind of guilty that Jake doesn't get the kind of attention that he used to get before baby. I guess that's the only downfall.
Oh, what the hell. Interview me.
I'm sick and have nothing better to do, so interview me. :)

One exclamation point - good. Two exclamation points - better. Three exclamation points...
I have nothing to write about today. I want to play! And apparently, I'm very good at rhyming!
I love it...I think you have my e-mail :)
