one sad & lonely post

That is all December 2010 is going to get.

We had a rough go in November and while December was much, MUCH better, it kinda came & went in the blink of an eye. I mean...December 31st? TOMORROW?? Sheesh. So I can't let an entire month go by without a blog post, so I'm going to blitzkrieg this one out there & hope for better luck in 2011.

We were still in Houston when the calender rolled over to December (no thanks to my parents' luggage getting lost on the way home from their vacation), and since we were all bored out of our skulls we headed out to the Houston Zoo. The weather was a little bit chilly, but we still managed to have a great time. Audrey's vocabulary continued to expand with each new animal we saw (I swear I heard her say "meerkat" at one point.) and she l.o.v.e.d. the children's area & the petting zoo.

Once we were back in Austin, we took her for her obligatory Santa picture and got what we call a "Santa WIN" in our Mom's group.

Oh, the humanity!

We also headed down to see the Zilker Holiday Tree. Unfortunately, the entire thing was pretty disappointing (since it was just the tree & no trail of lights this year) and Audrey wasn't all that into it. Not to mention that it was the first time I had used my camera at night in who-knows-how-long and I basically forgot how to take pictures with a flash. So I didn't. And therefore I have no pictures. Blah.

The last couple weeks have been a blur of green & red as we prepared for Christmas. I have yet to download any of the pictures from my camera (although I know for a fact that I didn't take too many this year), so I'll have to recap our festivities in another post. But I will say that Audrey had a wonderful time & got showered with a ton of amazing gifts.

So there you have it. Sayonara 2010 -- Bring it on 2011!!!
