For serious. This has been a rough month.
First, Audrey got a virus. Then, she had an ear infection. Now, she's working on her second molar. I think we've been home quarantined (for fear of getting other littles sick) more than we've been out playing. I'm worried that she's going to start forgetting what her buds look like.
I initially thought the curse was only affecting Audrey, and then last night happened. Long story short - Audrey & I drove to Houston last night to a) pick up my parents from the airport and b) spend a week down here visiting with 阿婆 & Grandpa (since it seems like they're always at our place these days). After making the drive & having a rest stop/playdate with some friends, we hit the road for my parents' house. It wasn't until I pulled into their driveway that it hit me - I had forgotten the keys to the damn house. Le sigh. The search for the hidden key proved unsuccessful (or successful if you look at it from a home security standpoint). Le double sigh. A knock on the neighbors' door to see if they per-chance had a key. Nada. Le $*!)%&@(%( sigh. We headed over to my cousin's house (where Audrey was entertained to no end by her second cousin) and mercilessly kept Audrey up waaaaaay past her bedtime until we headed to the airport to pick up my parents from their 3-hour-late flight. Naturally, once Audrey caught sight of her 阿婆 & Grandpa coming out the terminal, all was well. In the end, Audrey handled a 5-hour delay in her bedtime routine like a rock-star with minimal meltdowns and we all made it home safe & sound. But holyhell...what a clusterfuck of a day.
Luckily, tomorrow brings December and a healthy month. And no airport pick-ups. Coooooooome on, December.
Audrey is 1 year, 5 months, 1 week & 4 days old
