I honestly should have never said anything because I clearly jinxed the situation. Poor S.B.G. got her first cold/virus/illness/whatever.
It started late last week with a low grade fever (which I thought was teething) and a mild runny nose (which I thought was allergies) and blew up into a full blown snot-and-hack-up-your-lungs-fest by Sunday. And while I'm glad that it wasn't any worse, it still suuuuuuuucks to know that your baby isn't feeling well and there really isn't much you can do about it. After a quick trip to the pedi on Monday, the doc confirmed that it is just a virus and we get to let it run it's course. FORTUNATELY, it looks like we are on the downhill side of things. The snot is still running a-plenty, but the coughing is much improved (thanks to our trusty humidifier).
Audrey was in good enough spirits today to actually play with some of her toys, and I was all-too-happy to let her indulge herself. It was like Christmas morning all over again watching her re-discover the toys that she has essentially abandoned over the last several days. And she actually crawled through the Learning Farm!! It was so cute and I just loved seeing her smile again.

She has also started doing this squinty-eyed-smile thing that is abso-freaking-lutely adorable - even cuter than the squinchy-nosed-smile. I have no idea where she got this one, but she will do it over and over (and over and over) and she blinks ever so deliberately as if to say, "Hey! Look at me! Aren't I cute??" (Yes, Audrey. You are veryveryvery cute.") It took a brief hiatus over the weekend (thanks to the aforementioned virus), but it came back today in full force.

We're going to stay quarantined for another couple days because we're clearly contagious as evidenced by the trail of sick people - me, both my parents, Miller's parents, and possibly a sick friend we encountered at lunch last week - Audrey has left in her wake. Hopefully she is able to get some sleep (because that is the one area that has not shown any improvement) and that will help me get some sleep too speed up the healing process. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!!!
Audrey is 10 months, 3 weeks & 2 days old

She is so adorable! I'm glad she is feeling better!
Poor little love, I'm so sorry she hasn't been feeling well. But I am amazed that she made it so long without getting sick!
Hope she's back to her normal adorable, healthy, super-sleeping self very soon. And when she is, we're catching up. Deal?
It's no fun for anyone when the baby's sick. Glad to hear you are on the upswing (and count your blessings that she's almost one and this is her first illness)!
Poor baby Audrey! Glad the smiles are returning.
I'm so glad she is feeling better! That squinty-eyed-smile is every bit as cute as the squinchy-faced-smile. It made me laugh! So sorry to hear that your parents & Chris' parents are all sick, but that's what happens when there is a lot of love going on :) Get well soon, Audrey!
Aw, I hope she's better soon!
I love the squinty smile! So much personality!
I love her new smile!!
I seriously cannot believe she made it this far without having any illness. My boys have already caught probably 4 or 5 viruses by now. That's pretty amazing.
I'm glad she's feeling better (and hopefully over it now), and you guys can come out of seclusion. Quarantine is no fun!
