5 months old!!

I say it every month...."I can't believe she is XX months old already!" Not that I can believe it, but I feel like I should have something new to say about the fact that, yes indeed, she is getting older.

Welp...she's another month older. Hm. That really isn't all that satisfying.

Seriously. It seems like she really has changed quite a bit in the past month. She hurdled quite a few developmental milestones: rolling over both ways (here and here), laughing and sitting up in the prone position. She absolutely recognizes people now and smiles when she sees familiar faces, and not just because you are smiling at her; she initiates the smiling! She reaches out and grabs for everything; your mouth, nose, hair, her toys, the dogs toys (ew), the dog (he's still not too sure about that one). We've even started to get a good, solid bedtime routine down. While she's still not sleeping all the way through the night, she did self-wean from her pacifier in exchange for her left hand. In a few short weeks she will be an "independent" girl sleeping in her own room. We're still exclusively breastfeeding and we're thinking about starting solids soon. She's still not showing all the readiness signs for solids, but I have no doubt that she will be there pretty quick.

All in all she continues to be a happy, healthy little girl and we are so thankful to have her in our lives. S.B.G., we love you lots!!

Oh I can't wait for our get together next week!! We'll have to take a "halfsies" pic of you, Audrey (even though she's a quarter), Abby and Reyna. :)

I love that you call her SBG, because we call Lilly
"The QLP" (Queen of the Little People) because she likes to sit up watching her classmates play, all regal-like.

She's still cute though. Happy Five!

I love these "markers" for the pictures. They look like stickers for "onesies". It will be neat to see a collage put together after one year of you doing this. You should definitely share that. There are so many interesting projects you could do with the start of those monthly markers. She will be so thankful you did that for her. : ) ...
