Carseat? Check.

WHEW! It's been a madhouse in the Miller household recently. We had a bat-shit crazy month: baby showers, trips to Houston, maternity pictures, a wedding in Orlando, and the general frenzy that accompanies the month of May.

We were lucky enough to have not one, but two baby showers and scored a ton of awesome loot. Our friends & co-workers really spoiled us and we couldn't be more appreciative of all the fun stuff we got.

Work has been crazy for me - not only am I neck deep in a huge project, but I'm also trying to clear off my plate before I take maternity leave. I don't plan to start leave until the hospital staff is yelling at me to get off the computer, so we'll just see how that goes...

I already posted about the maternity shoot we had with the fabulous Lyndsay, but I wanted to brag about her some more. Be sure to check out the slideshow of our session! I seriously cannot wait to see the pictures she takes over the next year. It's going to be awesome.

So...on to some REAL news! I have now entered the phase of the pregnancy where I get to visit the doctor once a week. I had an appointment yesterday, and to make a long story short - I am already 1cm dilated and 80% effaced (translation for all you non-baby/pregnancy blog readers out there: my body is preparing for labor). I know they say that it can take weeks for your body to actually go into labor, but hearing that I was already 80% effaced really freaked me out. To add fuel to the fire, all my gal pals were asking me if I had the carseat installed & my bags packed for the hospital. Uh...we haven't even bought the damn carseat, much less installed it!!! I never in my wildest dreams imagined that my body would be getting prepared this early. Shit...I'm NEVER early!!!

Needless to say, the Miller household is now in overdrive. We made a run to Babies 'R' Us today to buy our carseat, and I'm going to work on getting a bag packed this weekend. I really hope this baby gives me a couple more weeks; I honestly still have so many things to do! We've made all our purchases, but we're waiting for delivery on most items. I will be stalking the UPS man over the next couple weeks.

Please keep your fingers & toes crossed that Baby Miller stays put for a little while longer. Mama's got one more work project to finish and then we're good to go!!

Be sure that when your car seat comes in to take it by the firehouse or police station and have them test it and make sure you have it installed properly. Some hospitals require this. Melissa did this and she learned a lot more about the seat that the lamas class taught.

I walked around 4cm dilated and 90%effaced for about four weeks. Hopefully baby Miller will stay in there like Will did! :)
