So I found some time between all the baby-prep to finally watch the Netflix movie that's been sitting by the 
DVD player for almost a month: The Searchers.
Since I've never been a fan of Western movies, I found it EXTREMELY difficult to get into this movie. The scenery was gorgeous (even though I found it extremely off-putting that the movie was supposed to be set in Texas when it was so obviously not in Texas...but I digress) and John Wayne was, well...John Wayne.
The story line was pretty standard for a Western-type movie, but it was interesting to see all the different social dilemmas interjected into it; particularly for a movie of its time.
It's hard for me to look beyond the fact that it was a Western (sorry...it's really not my speed), so I can't say that the movie warrants a #12 spot on the list, but it definitely deserves a spot.
