99 Luftballons

Leave it to Joyce to have a great blog-meme to keep me occupied! The things I've done are in bold.

  1. Started your own blog: duh
  2. Slept under the stars: We used to go camping a lot growing up...now it's just the occasional camping trip with Miller & the crew
  3. Played in a band: I was the definition of a band geek in middle/high school. 4 years in the marching band will do that to you. You know you're jealous.
  4. Visited Hawaii: Miller...I'm still waiting on this one!!
  5. Watched a meteor shower
  6. Given more than you can afford to charity
  7. Been to Disneyland/world: I went to WDW twice and WDL once...all before the age of 15. I'd love to go back someday and see how much it's changed.
  8. Climbed a mountain: Does hiking up/down the Grand Canyon count?
  9. Held a praying mantis
  10. Sang a solo: Does singing alone in my car count?
  11. Bungee jumped
  12. Visited Paris
  13. Watched a lightning storm at sea
  14. Taught yourself an art from scratch: I now know how to knit. I'm not very good at it, but I know how
  15. Adopted a child
  16. Had food poisoning: Yeah, and it SUCKED too!
  17. Walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty
  18. Grown your own vegetables
  19. Seen the Mona Lisa in France
  20. Slept on an overnight train
  21. Had a pillow fight: Who hasn't?
  22. Hitch hiked
  23. Taken a sick day when you’re not ill: If my boss is reading this, the answer is no (but really, the answer is yes)
  24. Built a snow fort
  25. Held a lamb
  26. Gone skinny dipping: Enough said.
  27. Run a Marathon
  28. Ridden in a gondola in Venice
  29. Seen a total eclipse: I remember seeing a partial eclipse when I was in grade school, but I've never been lucky enough to see a total eclipse
  30. Watched a sunrise or sunset: I think almost every day of my honeymoon was spent doing this
  31. Hit a home run
  32. Been on a cruise: I've been on 3 total
  33. Seen Niagara Falls in person
  34. Visited the birthplace of your ancestors: I've been to Taiwan a couple times & went to China in 2002
  35. Seen an Amish community
  36. Taught yourself a new language: I can speak a second language, but I don't know if it counts that my mom taught me from birth. I do have plans to learn Spanish though.
  37. Had enough money to be truly satisfied: Life is all about ups & downs!
  38. Seen the Leaning Tower of Pisa in person
  39. Gone rock climbing: I used to rock climb all the time in high school!
  40. Seen Michelangelo’s David
  41. Sung karaoke: Usually when I'm wasted, but yes I've done it
  42. Seen Old Faithful geyser erupt
  43. Bought a stranger a meal at a restaurant
  44. Visited Africa: W00t!!
  45. Walked on a beach by moonlight: I ♥ the beach!
  46. Been transported in an ambulance: Car accidents suck.
  47. Had your portrait painted
  48. Gone deep sea fishing
  49. Seen the Sistine Chapel in person
  50. Been to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris
  51. Gone scuba diving or snorkeling: We went snorkeling with sharks on our honeymoon...it was awesome!
  52. Kissed in the rain: Yes. It was a true Notebook moment, too.
  53. Played in the mud: You're not a true kid unless you play in the mud at some point!
  54. Gone to a drive-in theater
  55. Been in a movie
  56. Visited the Great Wall of China: I went in 2002 and it was AWESOME
  57. Started a business: Miller started a company in 2006. My name is technically on the paperwork so I can claim responsibility, too.
  58. Taken a martial arts class: I used to do kickboxing classes when I worked out on a regular basis
  59. Visited Russia
  60. Served at a soup kitchen
  61. Sold Girl Scout Cookies: I was never a Girl Scout, but I always help my niece sell/eat hers!
  62. Gone whale watching
  63. Got flowers for no reason: I have an awesome husband like that
  64. Donated blood, platelets or plasma: I've donated blood, but never platelets or plasma
  65. Gone sky diving: It was one of the coolest things I've ever done.
  66. Visited a Nazi Concentration Camp
  67. Bounced a check: Back in my fiscally irresponsible days this was a regular occurrence for me
  68. Flown in a helicopter
  69. Saved a favorite childhood toy: I still have a huge stash of Care Bear toys and I think my Glo Worm is still in a box somewhere
  70. Visited the Lincoln Memorial: I went to D.C. for my 5th grade social studies trip
  71. Eaten Caviar: Once. I honestly don't remember if it was good or bad
  72. Pieced a quilt
  73. Stood in Times Square: We took a family trip to NYC when I was a kiddo. There's a picture of me in Times Square, but I don't remember it.
  74. Toured the Everglades
  75. Been fired from a job: I was fired from an internship in college once.
  76. Seen the Changing of the Guards in London
  77. Broken a bone
  78. Been on a speeding motorcycle
  79. Seen the Grand Canyon in person: Yup. I hiked it too!
  80. Published a book
  81. Visited the Vatican
  82. Bought a brand new car: Thanks to my tax refund in 2007, I did!!
  83. Walked in Jerusalem
  84. Had your picture in the newspaper: Courtesy of our engagement/wedding announcements!
  85. Read the entire Bible
  86. Visited the White House: Back in 5th grade!
  87. Killed and prepared an animal for eating
  88. Had chickenpox: Yup. It sucked.
  89. Saved someone’s life
  90. Sat on a jury
  91. Met someone famous: Earl Campbell and I used to be thisclose.
  92. Joined a book club
  93. Lost a loved one: Unfortunately, yes.
  94. Had a baby: Not yet. In progress
  95. Seen the Alamo in person: I'm from Texas, right???
  96. Swam in the Great Salt Lake
  97. Been involved in a law suit: I was a witness in an assault case
  98. Owned a cell phone: Seriously. When was this created? 1998???
  99. Been stung by a bee: I got stung by a wasp. On the neck. In Africa.

48 out of 99 ain't bad! Some of these are duplicates of my 101 in 1001 goals so hopefully I'll be able to cross more off soon!

Oh yeah, I forgot about selling a camera to Earl! Sounds like he gets around. :)

You're quite the world traveler, I'm jealous!

And just so you know, I love the "taken a sick day" response. LOVE IT!

also, I love that you have marked through the "start the baby-making process" on your goal list. YAHOO!! Congrats!!
