So, I'm in Africa & not allowed to drink the water. Unless it comes out of a bottle. But if I'm going to go to that kind of trouble, I might as well enjoy it, right?
I told the hotel staff that I wanted a local, light beer. Victor was kind enough to bring me a Kilimanjaro Premium Lager. Considering the fact that nothing here is ever "really" cold, I had to quickly get over my dislike of warm beer. Surprisingly, it was not that bad. I'm sure these local beers are designed to be consumed at warmer temperatures so the flavors worked pretty well. That...and the fact that it was 500 ml (almost 17 oz.) at 4.5%. I wasn't "drunk" afterwards but I was definitely not bothered by the fact that it wasn't cold :)
