38. Read a non-fiction book

So, I brought a whole library of books with me to Africa knowing that I would have limited television & internet to keep me occupied. I had been wanting to read this book for quite some time but I just never had the time (okay...I'm just lazy). I'm still undecided about who I'm supporting for the election this year so I went into this book with an open mind.

As a book, this was a great one. It was really quite refreshing to hear/read a politician speak so candidly about their views and really go into the depths of why they felt the way they did. But, in true politician fashion, he Sen. Obama did teeter on the line at times and I found myself re-reading sections to try and figure out what his position on certain issues were. I honestly have to say there there are definitely some points he brought up that make me think a little harder. He might not have changed my mind entirely, but it did make me stop and re-evaluate why I think the way I do.

I'm still not sure who I'm giving my vote to come November and I'm so far out of the loop on what's been going on in the primaries in January that I'm afraid I've got a lot of catching up to do but after reading this book I feel like I already know where Sen. Obama stands. Maybe all political candidates should be required to write a book like this. I'm sure it's much more entertaining than watching those boring-ass debates on television....
