the first of many

We finally took Audrey to her first Texas football game!!

We didn't even consider taking her last year because she was less than 6 months old and I was super paranoid about exposing her to the elements & the noise. We knew that we really wanted to give it a shot this season but we had been waiting for the weather to not be so miserably hot (and let's be honest...I was kinda freaked out about taking her). Since the Longhorns suck aren't doing so well this season, we knew that it was too perfect not to take advantage. If she melted down 5 minutes after getting there Miller wouldn't be too upset about having to leave the game early, and there was a pretty good chance that the stadium wouldn't be as crowded as usual so we could spread out a little.

We headed out a little early so we could stop by the tailgate and let Audrey eat her lunch before heading in to the stadium. She clung pretty close to us and really didn't want to be put down at all.

We hiked in to the stadium early and Audrey checked out the pre-game show - she really loved watching the band march in.

Since the stadium was relatively empty (and the family that usually sits behind us was a no-show) we were able to take up two rows and give her more space. She wasn't all that interested in watching the game and spent most of the afternoon eating snacks & reading books. Shocker.

We decided to leave at halftime to avoid any meltdowns - we were already surprised with how long she had lasted - and hiked back to the car.

After we got home, Audrey didn't go immediately to bed (as we thought she would) and instead decided to read some more. Please note her new shoes - homegirl is rocking some new brown Pumas. ::love::

I'm so glad we took her to her first game & that it was a huge success. We are definitely excited to take her to more games next season!
