It's kind of embarrassing to admit this, but I've never seen The Godfather. That is, until, today.
I always hear people (Miller included) talking about what an "awesome" movie it is while giving me that look like I've got a third eye when I explain that I've never seen it. C'mon, people! I was born in the 80's. And I'm a CHICK! This is not exactly the kind of movie that is setting off my movie-radar when I'm browsing the video aisles.
Well, thanks to my trusty 101 list, I finally conjured up the motivation to see it. You know...I have to admit that it wasn't half bad. It was pretty slow at first, and I ended up having to turn the closed captions on because I could barely understand "The Don," but overall I was pleasantly surprised. I guess I kept expecting Al Pacino to go all Cubano a'la Scarface or something.
Anyhow...I'm glad I can finally cross this one off the list (both the 101 list & the social list of "you have to see these movies"). I'm oddly curious to see what happens in Parts II and III. Thank goodness for goal # 93!

i love the godfather! along with any mob movies really!
glad you finally saw it :-)
I have never seen the Godfather movies either. Maybe I should have been doing that while I've been on bedrest. But nothing sounds very fun right now, especially not mobster movies from the 80s!
Congrats on yet another completed movie. :)
Godfather II: Probably the best one of the three. Well-worth watching...
