Audrey is going to be one in 9 days.
Our soon-to-be-one-year-old doesn't seem to notice that she's getting any older and fills her days with pretty much the same stuff we do every other day. Her babbling is really starting to kick into high gear - lots of "dadadadadada" (why not "mamamamama"????) and you can really see her little sponge-of-a-brain absorbing everything around her. She still chases Riley around the house desperate for him to play with her; Riley still hasn't forgiven her for all the hair & ear pulling - although there have been ever so brief moments where it looks like he's mustering up the strength to give her a second chance. We remain hopeful. She still isn't standing unassisted and freaks her freak when I try to let go so it's clear that she isn't ready yet, but if you hold her hands and walk with her you can pretty much get her up to a run. She still only prefers about 4 books off her bookshelf and is perfectly happy reading them over & over (& over & over). And her favorite toy of the moment? A $.49 moose we picked up from IKEA.
We've continued Skype-ing with my parents and Audrey really looks forward to her regular chats with 阿婆 & Grandpa.
Other than that, things are pretty much status quo. I wanted to snap a couple candids of Audrey playing this morning and as soon as she heard the camera beep, this is what I got:
Audrey is 11 months & 3 weeks old (and will be 1 in 9 days).

I can't believe her birthday is right around the corner! Where has the time gone? She is such a fun, sweet, beautiful little thing - what a wonderful (almost) year you've had!!

how is she almost a year old?? i cleaned off the fridge today which included pulling her birth announcement off the fridge to store with all the other cards/announcements. time flies!
